As a worship leader, we need to be pulling in the same direction as our pastor. The only way we can do this is to spend time together. Ask your pastor: What’s in your heart? What do you think God is doing in our church? What direction are we going? What do you think God wants to say this Sunday (not just your message)? And then share your heart with him. Where do you think the God moment will be in the set? What is God speaking to your heart about that week? The pastor/worship leader relationship is a critical relationship in the church. They have to be one. They have to be on the same page. They have to be pulling in the same direction. And it is a relationship that has to be invested in.
