Ephesians Study, pt6

The picture that Paul paints here in Ephesians 6, is one of people who relate to each other–not on the basis of their social or financial status, but rather on the basis of promoting the gospel. The reason I’m friends with some of my dearest friends is because we have an agenda—we want to promote the gospel. That promotion of the gospel, that promotion of the Church, binds our hearts together in whatever we are doing and causes us to cherish those relationships beyond just the familiar benefits and blessings of a friendship. Thank you for investing in God's folk and for giving some insight into seeing Ephesians 6 in view of Paul's intent. There is often a tendency to go to Eph 6:10-17 with no clue of the precepts laid out in the previous 5 chapters and 9 verses. I often think of coterie as a way to describe the type of rich relationships we are called to form. One thought: your armor is personal gear...not community property. It is custom fitted by Holy Spirit...but many seem to think its use is optional.
