Building Testimony

BUILDING TESTIMONY

Frank Rondon

Iglesia Sion, Pennsylvania

One day I was going about my day-to-day life preaching, discipling, and loving on people, and the next day I was signing papers to purchase a new building for our church. As soon as I got the key in my hand, I was out of my element. I didn’t know it at the time, but I had just become a General Contractor. Please pray for me! I know nothing about this. Well, I shouldn’t say that. As of the writing of this article, I know a little bit more than I knew at the time we purchased our new building.

Perhaps the question I get asked the most nowadays is: When are you guys moving into your new building? The answer is the same every time: I don’t know; whenever it is ready.

I wonder if there is a similar situation going on in Heaven. The Son is asking the Father, “When can I go get my bride?” The Father answers, “As soon as she is ready.”

I spend a lot of my time at the new building. Even when I’m not there, I’m always praying for the building, thinking about the building, dreaming about the building, and recently, God has been speaking to me through the building.

I recently learned that trying to fix one problem can lead to the discovery of other hidden problems, which are the very root of the whole problem. Now this sounds like a counseling session for married couples. Anyway, we decided that four windows in the back of the building needed to be replaced. When the window guy came to take a look, he informed me that he could not install a single window because the piece of metal that supports the weight above the windows is completely corroded. He will not install his beautiful windows around a frame that cannot guarantee its safety.

I wonder if God takes the same approach with many of us. He says: “Son, I can’t yet give you all the authority and blessing I would like to give you. That frame around your life just can’t hold all the weight. The beautiful ministry I want to install in your life would be shattered by the weight of all that comes with it.”

I thank God for speaking to me and showing me His heart through this building. We are closer now, and we will move in when it is ready.
