NRP is just wrapping up the third Church Growth Intensive for our covenant members. I have been hearing some good reports about all of them. The pastors were impacted and encouraged to press on in regards to their calling.
At the intensive in Louisiana, I shared on The Call of God. Two truths about the call that encouraged me:
IT IS AN ETERNAL AND HOLY CALLING
“Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” 2 Timothy 1:9 KJV
He called us—before time began—into a holy calling. It must take precedence over our life. Sports, hunting, fishing, entertainment, and the distractions of this world must not take away from time spent to fulfill our calling. Everything we do must have our holy calling in view—the we read, the movies we see (or don’t see), our daily communion life, etc. AS WE OBEY AND PURSUE HIM, GOD TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR CALLING “…My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, whom I have taken…and called from the remotest parts of the earth…I will strengthen you…I will help you…I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand…” Isaiah 41:8-11 AMP. God takes responsibility to provide for us, to strengthen us, to impart vision into us, and to give us grace to carry out our divine assignment. We cannot fail if we yield and persist in our calling!
