1 Corinthians 3:10, 14, “According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it…If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward.”
In Part One, we looked at the prophetic side of the Master Builder. The vision caster. He designs with technologies and/or materials that are not yet developed or proven.
Key Element #2: The second aspect of the Master Builder is that of a continuer. Jesus said, “If you continue in My Word, then you will know the Truth, then you will be set free.” Prophetic insight and vision initiate movement, but must be followed by repeated and persevering action. The Master Builder who is aware of this has to have a qualified protégé, a disciple who is as committed to the end product as he is.
The old saying “There is no success without a successor” holds true. Great designs took more than a lifetime to complete. Often 70 years or more. The Master Builder owns the reality that what he is building will take time and perseverance, and he is a continuer. What he started, he is committed to finishing through those who follow behind him. Solomon finished the temple, but David is credited as the builder. David dreamt it, designed it, saw it. He had vision, cast the vision, and had one (Solomon) to build upon and continue the vision to completion. A Master Builder builds for permanence.
Next month I’ll share with you the 3rd and final Key Element of a Master Builder.
